My name is Sheila Dobson. I am a Helper or Nutrition Consultant trained in Development, formerly called Nutritional Balancing Science by Dr. Larry Wilson. I have been a practitioner since 2011.
I enjoy my work immensely!
Before becoming a Helper / Nutrition Consultant, I worked in public schools for over a decade, and was for many years also a stay-at-home mom.
My formal education includes certification in Nutritional Balancing Science (aka Development) from WestbrookUniversity. I also have a teaching degree in Earth Science from the University of Arizona and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Arizona. I have completed formal coursework in Human Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology and other basic health sciences at the college level. I have taught math and science mainly at the high school level.
I am not a health practitioner per se, due to the fact that with the Development approach to health, we assist individuals in a truly holistic manner. In our society, health practitioners mainly utilize a diagnose and treat model. We, as Helpers or Practitioners in this field of Development / Nutritional Balancing, do NOT diagnose or treat bodily or other conditions, nor do we approach matters of health and wellness in this manner. This new way of thinking requires some effort to learn, on the part of the client. Our aim is to gently adjust, strengthen and balance the body. Over time, doing this correctly and repeatedly usually results in dramatic improvements to not only physical health but other aspects of a person's functioning.
I am self-taught in many areas of health and healing, including homeopathy, herbal therapies and other approaches, having studied these topics in earnest since about 2001. These areas of self-directed study have allowed me to understand people and the human body and healing process more effectively, however, many of these approaches are NOT routinely used in the Development programs we devise for reasons given above, and due to the need for very simple programs when balancing the body.
Clients who utilize my services will have each test reviewed not only by me, but also by Dr. Wilson and by another experienced Nutritional Balancing Practitioner who works closely with Dr. Wilson. When there are difficulties that I need assistance with, Dr. Wilson is available.
My clients like the fact that I take the time needed to answer their questions and guide them when there are difficulties. One woman says the following about my skills:
"Sheila has been such a help to me...she generously shares her wisdom and knowledge. I find her interpersonal skills to be superb. She listens very carefully and compassionately. I never feel rushed during our phone conversations. She has an avid interest in all things pertaining to good health and is a constant learner because of that. You will find her to be a wonderful ally on the road to your own good health." Diane L. Phoenix, Az
